I think you need to do some research on the length of time you can stay...its 90 days in 180 so staying 6 months would not be possible without applying for residencia.....

Very few jobs without fluent Spanish 

Hire car minimum 10-15€ a day and usually max is a month 

There are very few Brits in the city of Cartagena so any drama groups would be Spanish

Join some Facebook pages specifically for the Cartagena area and ask on there.
