As far as a 2 day car hire starting at Alicante airport is concerned is there any particular company that comes 'highly recommended' or any that are thought to be...'avoid'....?....( Driver 77yo).

We have used Europcar a few times and have found them ok, especially if you enter all your details online first... pick up is then much speedier

Used to use Europcar a lot, for years...and then last year they started to play tricks. Surprise, surprise...guess who took over Goldcar.

We have used flamenca twice now and we won't use any one else. No hidden charges and their now automatically includes the full insurance with no excess. The last trip was pick up drop off to Alicante and the man was waiting for us at Costa as you come out of the main building across the road. We took full to full tank and there is a petrol station about 8 minutes drive from the airport so after filled up call them. He was waiting for us at the same place we picked up.
