Hi

My name is Tom and I am moving to Cehegin at the end of August. I have been there a few times before and notice a few fruit trucks and concrete trucks etc. I am wondering if anyone knows of any driver vacancies in or around the area. I am a class 1 HGV Driver with an ADR and a hiab licence experienced in driving on the continent. I will consider anything even small vans.

Thanks for your time.

Hi tom I'm a hg1 driver too I do heavy haulage around Europe I'm moving to cieza next week but I think it's difficult for the Spanish to employ brits, I'm looking to try other things, I believe it's hard to find work unless you can do bits and pieces

Hi Tony.

Thanks for the info, I keep hearing this from everyone I speak to. I just thought you never know.

Have you ever heard of a Brit driving a Spanish truck??

Cheers.

Hi Tom There is a firm Campillo Palmera based at Molina Dr Segura your side of Murcia, I knew an English guy that managed to get regular work with them, but this was all pre 2008, I tried lots of firms between Albox and Murcia but after 2008 and had no luck at all, although some expressed a little bit of interest, but some were just dam rude end up asking at the gate and can't ever really get in to see the transport managers, There is another firm at Antas bit far for you I know, they always spoke to you in person and at least said come back in the Autumn as the fruit was busy then, I went back a few times but in the end we just had to go back to UK and got a job so easily, driving a sewage Tanker! It's really difficult here with HGV work post 2008 the problem is they can get eastern European drivers for half of what they pay Spanish nationals , so there's huge competition out there due to so many Spanish drivers searching for work,

Anyway it might be worth going back long to Campillo at Mollins de Segura , the bloke I used to know said they were very good to work for and money then was reasonable, If I can remember the name of the firm in Antas I will forward it to you, as I said there's lots of firms in that area, so it might be worth making a day trip of it! There's a few big ones at Huercal Overa as well.Hope this might be of help to you and don't give up looking, as you might just be in the right place at the right time!

Regards......Mel
