Hiya!

We are hoping to relocate to Spain this coming year. I am certain that is what I want to do, but my husband is still a bit worried about things. My dad has stayed in Costa del Sol for over 20 years now and I wish I had went with them when I had the chance. Life is too short and we aren't getting any younger. So, we are booking to come over to the area for the first time and get a feel for the place. Then hopefully rent for a year.

Hoping to speak to others as I feel the only thing I will really miss are my friends. Hopefully once we do move they can visit.

Hugs

N x

You get one shot at life so do it. Nothings for ever so you can always go back home.

Very sensible to rent and see how it goes but remember, you are living there, it's not a holiday so you have to live as normal as possible. Life wont be perfect as you can have problems anywhere and there is a lot of red tape but go with the flow and it will be good. If you dont like it at least youve done. Good friends will keep in touch and it's very easy to make new friends as the weather makes socialising much easier than in UK. We lived there 11 years and loved it but retired early and came back for aged parents and 3 Grandkids but still go back as often as possible. Good luck + enjoyđź‘Ť

Hi, we have lived in Spain for about 4 years now, we have just relocated to Sucina which is not far from St Javier, it is wise to rent first because if you decide you do not like it you can always go back home. We love it in Sucina there is quite a lot of English here and the Spanish are friendly. If you are interested in getting to know other English there is a quiz night & play your cards right on a Friday night in the social club, a ladies & gents meal is arranged once a month on a Wednesday, the ladies go to one place & the gents to another and then we all meet up in Frank & Louise bar in the village, there are keep fit & yoga for the ladies so quite a lot going on.

Hope this helps, just do it I’m sure you will love it as we do

We moved to Camposol just over a year ago. Fantastic community spirit here.  Perfect location to getting to the local beaches and Murcia and Cartagena are only 40 mins away. And the Sierra Espuna only 30 minutes.  Good luck

With Brixit Britain going down the pan can you turn off the light when you leave!

We brought our holiday home last year and don't regret a pound spent, I am retiring this year and seriously thinking of moving to Murcia full time, what is there not to like?

If you want any recommendations for solicitors etc let me know.

Best of luck!

Andy

Hey

Myself , fiance & our two children 12&2 are planning over move over from Dublin.  We will be in low Alcazares in 3 weeks to fingers crossed find the property we are looking for to buy . We feel the same the slow pace of life and outdoor lifestyle for the kids is what we would love and not being to far from home aswell . I'd say you only live once why not give it a go ? It's better to try and it not work out then to have regrets I would say . There seems to be a big expat community out there so hopefully we all find freinds easy over there.  Keep us posted on your plans

Best of luck

We moved over from Aberdeenshire 8 weeks ago to live here permanently. Our house is currently being built and we hope to move in sometime in March. We live in Los Alcázares down on the coast and we love it here. We have met some fantastic people and regularly out to quiz nights, ten pin bowling, fundraising dinners, coffee mornings etc. We joined Facebook page for local area and I joined ladies who lunch group. I’m taking Spanish lessons once a week with a fab teacher and group of people. I took early retirement and the best thing we have ever done. We sold up everything at home to live our new life here but did a lot of research beforehand and were 100% sure that Los Alcázares was the place for us.

Not sure where in north east of Scotland you live but I wish you all the best and enjoy visiting and choosing your new home.

Do it now.

If your a true Scot go with your heart not your mind.

However, your mind will sort any issue out.

Oh and by the way I'm true English, but love the scots.
