Just pause for a moment and think. How can a company rent a car for €9 ????

Too good to be true.

Not at all. I’ve been hiring cars over there for years and  on the last 8 occasions, I’ve paid under €10 for 4-5 days. All perfectly successfully. All full-to-full petrol and the petrol refund has come through within 48 hours of returning the car. And I have no problem with them blocking the deposit either. I never take out the extra insurance as we have an annual policy from the UK to claim back any costs.

It’s worked well for me for years!

I do the same, but all the companies with a full/empty return, add a filling service charge! Last month I rented for less than 10€ for 14 days. I filled the tank on return and they took about 30€ from memory for the service charge. The CC block and deposit for fuel was returned a week later. That's how they make their money plus if you're with a dodgy company, they will say you have damage on the car and charge you after you've left. It pays to allow enough time when collecting and returning the car to check for all damage and get it signed off.

Companies who have ripped me off and are on my blacklist: Dickmans; Goldcar and Firefly. Will never use them again. I didn't think much of the service from OK either! Top of my list in every respect is Wiber, although they are a little more expensive now.

When I filter my search, I only look for full to full fuel (to avoid that service charge), unlimited mileage and on-airport pickup.

It’s served me well for years. My only query about this booking was the concern about Corvera not being specifically named on many companies’ websites.

Yes, I always do that but the full/full always starts off more expensive through DoYou Spain, anyway. If you have a better agent please let us know.

Hi, does anyone have any usable info about car hire from the new airport? I've just booked to fly in there on Jan 20th 2019 but none of the usual car hire companies or comparison sites have it listed yet. I contacted Rentalcars.com who told me it won't be possible to book a car through them until...

... the day the airport opens! I'm not happy to wait until 5 days before I fly to try and sort a car!

The airport's own website lists 5 companies which it says "should" be offering car hire. It lets me search and at the moment it shows only 5 cars available (doesn't say which rental company), all of which are very expensive!

Any info gratefully accepted! Thanks.

Try Flamenca cars, they have told me they will be operating out of Corvera as soon as it opens.

The main car hire companies at San Javier have all said they will transfer...try Flamenca Cars or Your Car Mar Menor who are car dealers but contact Amanda as they also rent cars at very reasonable cost

Hi,  I would be interest to rent a car from flamenco cars, from airport to cover golf and country club,  thanks x
