Corvera

Also known officially as....

Región de Murcia International Airport.

Designated RMU.

It is actually Camposol to avoid any confusion.

My sister has just booked LGW to RMU for early January, less than £60 return (cabin bag only, randomly allocated seat). That's with Easy jet. Looking forward to seeing what the place is like a year after opening.

Dont expect too much. There are only about 4 flights a day arriving and departing. It is really quick getting through customs. I had seats at the back one trip and timed it and it took me 7 minutes when I left the plane to getting outside airport into the car! It is a very quiet airport which suits me. The staff in duty free are very friendly and helpful. Although small they do some good deals. Whs Costa and subway are very expensive. Costa always seem to have one barista and you wait ages in queue for a coffee.

One plus side to Corvera is that instead of crashing down on the runway because of the side winds at San Javier you get a nice ( most of the time ) smooth touch down.

We used RMU in Feb this year on our house hunting trip. All lovely and clean, still nice and new. Minimal shops etc but that was fine by us, it is just a place to park the plane before picking up the hire car after all 😀 Despite taking 90 minutes to get the car that was still better than San J, the one time we used that we were in a very unhappy queue for 2.5 hours.

90 mins to wait for the car phew! Before we bought our car we used flamenca and ah rentals who were always waiting for us and we were straight in the car and on our way

Camposol is 1.5 hours from Camposol.

Obviously depends on how fast you drive though !

Also handy to know when flying out is to buy bottled drinking water from the vending machines once through Passport Control.  Much cheaper than the shops.  1 euro for a small bottle or 1.50 for the larger size.  So it's a good idea to have some small change.
