I have just received this email from the CRA appealing for members & thought it would help the cause to post the appeal on here.

It costs nothing to join................

To all Camposolers and not just the members of the Camposol Residents Association, who now number 1120, which is about 1/3 of the total number of residents on the Padron covering El Saladillo.

We recently had two meetings at which we were left in no doubt that the situation on Camposol is not going to improve in the short term and may not even get better in the long term unless we escalate the issues on Camposol, again, and highlight the indifference expressed by the Town Hall, the Region and the British Consulate.

Whilst Silvana Buxton tries to do her best for Camposol, she has been backed into a corner by Town Hall Politics and has more or less relinquished what we have been trying to address in trying to get the Urbanisation finished to a safe and legal standard. Taking into account what the Spanish Constitution considers to be citizens’ rights and local government responsibilities, Mazarron Town Hall fails miserably.

We have to exclude the British Consulate from the future progress of our complaints as they also do not seem to be in a position to help and despite meetings with the Town Hall and Region they do not have any powers to persuade the Spanish Authorities to do something about the situation.

We need your backing to progress the issues on Camposol to higher authorities other than the Town Hall and the Region. We need to talk to interested parties who may be able to bring the pressure on to those that are failing us. What has been an ongoing disgrace and a could not care less attitude by local authorities, who have let this situation develop over a 20 year time period.

So how can you help? There is a ‘strength in numbers’ which can be a game changer so we ask if you’re not a member of the CRA, you can join for free, by going to our website www.camposolresidents.es and look for the join tab. You know it makes sense.

We could say a great deal more, but for now, we just want to get on with the job of getting things right so we can all live the dream on Camposol , which has a good community spirit and lots of potential to be a fantastic urbanisation.

Thank you for reading and supporting our efforts.

Camposol Residents Association.

I wish you all the very best of luck in your push for Camposol.  The more people actively pushing the better the outcome.    It's in all your hands now, do nothing, get nothing!!!

Hi Des,

It seems from your posts on this and other threads that you lived on Camposol for a while and obviously identified issues.  For those of us still living here, perhaps you can give us a summary of what actions you took to try and resolve these issues while you were here and the result of those endeavours. That may help the rest of us

Thank you

Des,

Please don’t make incorrect assumptions about my post. As you clearly were someone who took an interest in what was happening with Camposol, I apparently, wrongly assumed that you would have been one of he people interested in And working to making a difference. There are a lot of people with that positive  mindset here, and I thought we could learn from how you went about things. Clearly I was mistaken! Thanks for your time and good luck.

Indifference of the Town Hall, you could add the indifference of Camposol residents who like to moan but not be stirred into action.

One of the questions that needs to be asked is why don't people on Camposol ,didntv vote at the elections ?Lack of good leadership and control of meetings that descended  into a hitler youth rally maybe?.A chair that is oblivious to important questions raised also?,and , was also full of its own self importance. As was said to me at one of cdips  meetings ,by someone that had run a entity in another urbanisation. ."CAMPOSOL WILL BE THE SAME IN TEN YEARS TIME NOTHING WILL CHANGE" .the money needed to put Our urbanisation right will come from a application for funds from central government not the council directly !It was said by the chair at the Cdip meeting "I don't think they know how to do it"(get funds from central government .)what tosh the council got millions for the sea front in Port , of course they know how to raise funds .Des is quite right, till our sectors form a entity and contribute our IBi fully,as the money paid at the moment is cursory, nothing will change.Maybe that's why people didn't vote ,because they moan about this and that but at the end of the day don't want to pay for the services and repairs that need to be done there  .Cidip and Cra are in a power struggle of diverse personalities two entities that mix politics with the actual problems in Camposol ,plus they need  a United clear objective. And the council just divide and rule. The leadership of both these organisations need to take some responsibility to unite there grievances and galvanise the main arguments to the council .But if the people on our sectors don't bother  to vote  why should the council bother with the the ongoing problems we have on Camposol .Its a thankless job trying to get people up and running on this both voting and forming a entity but unless we do ,Nothing will Change, and  that's the reality.appologies to the small amount of people that did Vote .Another question a lot of people lost there houses recently despite warnings from Cra .why ?Didnt pay there final payment so there deeds wernt  released by Massa maybe?or Never paid there ibi up to date another  maybe ?or something else ?.Too many people on Camposol taking the preverbial pixx ,not registered as residents whilst living in Spain as residents ,renting out properties ,Planning permissions not bothered with.plus a few more, we all know who they are !Post brexit and covid ,as sure as night follows day the egg will come home to  roost big time ,and the "good days are numbered ".

Very interesting reading, this is turning into a more realistic debate. A few home truths hurt nobody, not if it's raising much needed issues in an honest and productive format. Blue smoke blowing won't solve the problems.

Am i right in assuming a few unspoken white elephants are being pointed out here?

As someone whose trying to get things done on Camposol it's time to get behind the CRA as they are the only representative body on Camposol for the residents and they are  processing a number of initiatives that will make the local council take notice. CDIp has been mothballed so that antagonism no longer exists. The current appeal from the CRA has improved the membership over the past 5 days from 1109 to 1201 members which is over a 1/3 of the registered residents on the Padron. Obviously moving in the right direction. There will be more newsletters coming out very soon.
