I know that there has been a lot of discussion around this but as it’s changing all the time I was wondering if anyone has a definitive answer.

We are returning to the uk for 3 weeks, some people say you only need an antigen test others say you need a PCR!

Any advise would be good as even the Gov.uk website is not clear.

Thanks.

I believe currently if double vaccinated you need antigen test to fly to the UK and then a  PCR on day two in the UK

If you were double-vaccinated in the UK, you need an antigen / lateral flow test - negative (obvs!) - within 72 hours of departure from Spain. You need to complete a passenger locator form and also pre-book a Day 2 PCR test for the UK. If you're flying to Scotland, you can only book the Day 2 test via the Scotgov website directly, but if the rest of the UK, then there are many companies you can use for this service.

Note - if one or both of your vaccines were not administered by the NHS, then you need the above, but to book a Day 2 & Day 8 test package and also quarantine for 10 days when you get back to the UK. The UK currently does not recognise vaccines administered abroad.

Hope this helps!
