Hi

Does anyone know if there's a VAT/duty exemption on household/personal items when moving to Spain from the UK? I've been given contradicting information and I'm a bit confused, so grateful if anyone who recently (post-Brexit) moved to Spain could confirm.

Thanks,
TG

Hi TG,

We moved this month. I used Wiseguys, and transported 40m2. They send you an inventory to complete and I put most items at a low amount. €2 - €100 (TV or expensive furniture) max. In total I paid £381 import tax.

Hope this helps.

Mick

If possible, would you be able to post a copy of the inventory so I've got a template to work with? Cheers

Thank you very much for your reply, Mick. So basically there was no exemption in your case. Were you taxed at 21%?

Hi Poppy,

Sorry I can not find it at the moment, but when I do I will send it. It was fairly basic, an excel spreadsheet about 5 columns. Item, quantity, value and location i.e. box
