Hi

Due to several different amounts quoted I am confused how much we have to have here in Spain to apply for our residencia.  I really need to know up to date numbers and not speculative from months ago. (I await my lawyers response hence reaching out here)

If it is a lump sum amount - how much per person?

If it has to be regular instalments - how much and for how long eg 3 months?

Can it be in different Spanish accounts eg current account & investments or have all to be in current account?

Many thanks in advance for any advise.

Is this just for EU citizens, or people from anywhere?

EU citizens, including UK up to 01Jan 21. Currently also there are no residency appointments for UK.

Hi Mick thank you very much for the information. It’s really appreciated.

Regarding the €15,000 in Spanish bank - do you know if it has to be in one account or could it be split between a current account and an investment set up by bank?

Also very worrying that there are no appointments for UK nationals.

Can I ask do you arrange residencia for others or was it purely based on your own experience? Just my lawyer is not overly responsive so will probably go through another channel.

Sorry you would need to get advice for that. Hopefully appointments will be available again soon now they have set up new system. Its frustrating as no one knows what may or may not happen in January. We have all the finances, but realistically we will not be able to move out for the periods required so would lose our residency.

No need to panic, CAB have issued the changeover to TIE,s are now imminent and more info as to applying from 6th July. Spain is starting TIE,s early as we,re still in EU and TIE,s are for non EU people. Still you,d need to change later anyway so might as well do it on first application. Still ok to get residency via a TIE instead of old system by January 2021, and believe financial requirements are as per old system, not as per new 32,000€ (couple) requirement after January.

Regards

Pauline.

We are in the process of obtaining residency in mazarron. We own our home out right and have been advised we only need copy of deeds and do not require proof of income or savings. Once we have applied I will post a thread.

Hi - that’s really interesting. We also own our house outright and have of copy title deeds. So I take it a professional has advised you that no additional funds are required. I’d be very interested to hear your progress. All the best getting your residencia.
