H everyone, we are hoping to move to El Carmolí in the summer, covid permitting. We have been told that you need to get military clearance to buy property in this area. Does anyone know anything about this?

Looking forward to seeing you!

Val and Ian

Thanks for your help, although it's still unclear if el carmoli is classed as an established built up area or not.......

We recently moved to the area and asked this question ourselves and basically, our abogado told us that if you are buying a independent property in the campo (e.g. a finca), then it's possible that you would need to apply for one of these but if you are buying in an urban area or on a development of any kind, then you do not need one.

Thank you so much! Everything is taking so long and costing so much (£2k for our visas and counting) this would have been the final nail.

You have been extremely helpful
