Hi all. We purchased a villa back end of 2021 and the previous owners were using fibrenet for their broadband. We decided to stick with them but the internet is atrocious. Is this something that happens due to the heat? Or is it just a rubbish company? For the past 3 days we have no internet more than we have it

Do you have the small satellite dish or their fibre optic cable?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your response. We have the satalite dish as there is no fibre optic to the villa or the road.

That's a real pain. I swapped to the cable because of better signal strength. Sorry I can't suggest anything else then.

You might have tried it but........

Turn the power off to every thing internet related.

Wait 5 minutes or so turn it all back on & wait 5 or 10 minutes.

It may or may not help but it's worth a try.

Thanks Roland, yes we did try this when it first started playing up. Worth trying it again though as we have nothing to lose

Are they the only company around? Some companies now use 5 G more powerful but only on a short distance.

Hi ,

Had the same problem for years eventually applied for a Starlink dish. Took a while to get but believe its now quicker. Cost is 70 euros amonth plus tax which is around 10 euros. Download speed on average 150 to 200 maps.

There is an initial fee if you check the starlink website it will explain how to sign up and the costs.

Good luck

Chaw

Have you tried Movistar. Never had any problems with them. They are the best company and appear to be able to lay fibre cables where other companies are unable to or just can't be bothered. This is Spain and never more has the saying 'if, at first, you don't succeed, try, try, try again'. Beware though, don't be conned into taking air fibre which other companies will try to get you to take. It is not the same and will not improve things for you.
