For our money go for Lobster, if available in your area. As for internet, again if in your area we would go for Telitec. Used both for 2 1/2 years.

For a number of years I have had a pay as you go with Digi Mobile on their Combo plan I only pay 5.00 euro a month as this suits my needs.

For this I get 3gb and 100 mins a month calls international they have many plans see web site details attached

Do you need to be a resident for either/both of these?

Digi is a mobile used throughout Europe, you can buy a sim card just take your identification with youThis would relate to any sim card contract or payg you buy.

Due to the Spanish legislation (Ley 25/2007) mobile customers are obliged to identify themselves with a valid document. Therefore, an upload of the passport, identity card or the Spanish NIE must be carried out as part of the activation.

I did a lot of research into this and went with Hits Mobile, for 7 euros I get free unlimited calls to UK and back to Spain when in the UK plus 3G data anywhere in Europe. They use the Vodaphone network and customer services is English speaking and superb. Check them out.
