I was in the process of nearly completing a purchase in fortuna with everything agreed. The Lawyer I appointed was : AP ABOGADOS - Angela Martinez with offices in alicante and Murcia. This lady is very poor in her services and a procrastinator in all aspects and it is nearly impossible to contact her and because of her lax way of operating the owner got fed up and pulled out from the agreed deal,THIS IS DESPITE ME TRANSFERING THE DEPOSITE OF EU 3000/- AND A FURTHER CONFIRMATION DEPOSIT OF EU 10,000/-.Which the Lawer had kept in her company account.

She had NOT transfered any of this money to the owner despite my 3 visits and drew up a contract at the very end, which I presume was too late for the owners. She was sitting on my deposits in her account and it was a nightmare to get it returned to me.This she did after more than 3 months deducting her full lawyers charge of Eu 1200/- for no work done.

I have lost this house because of this poor lawyer ( if you can call her one) and my advise is to stay well away from this typical cheat and the trap I fell into despite me looking at all advisory details on how to avoid such people. Also complicit in this was a agent -HONDON VILLA REAL ESTATE who are apparently a dodgy operation.

I am continuing to look for my dream holiday home in the regions of Murcia,Fortuna, Hondon valley and inland but not very inland with 3beds/2 baths and a private pool, and I hope to find one.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your terrible experience. We bought our property privately, make sure you go on recommendation for a decent estate agent.

We used Corral & Alcaraz law firm, first class, from start to finish, we will be staying with them for all of other matters too. They have their main offices in Murcia & one in Puerto de Mazarrón.

Sorry to be reading your awful experience and to lose your ideal home. We also bought privately and used Alberto from Corral as well that are based in Mazarron port. Highly recommend them. Purchase was quick and smooth and they answered my emails swiftly. Good luck in your continued search.

That's terrible! We used NCS lawyers, Enrique Nieto in particular, fluent in English. They handled everything for us while we were in the States. Great communicator, I can't say enough of the peace of mind they conveyed in us. It was a lot of money for us, being handled in a foreign country whose laws were unknown to us. I had done some research and read terrible stories like yours.

NCS were heaven sent to us. We're so grateful to them till today. They're based in Santiago de la Ribera but do have offices all over. Best wishes in finding your dream home. The next one will be even better for you. Never give up. Your €1200 will be returned to you from another source in money or deeds!

Hi, is this lawyer you use just a conveyancing lawyer or a general lawyer
