Why did you move here? Out of interest.

Hi, We first saw Camposol on English TV ( A place in the sun ) and just had to visit.

We came out twice, and looked at over 20 Villas, spoke to dozens of people who live here, and decided to retire here.

It was a great decision, the community are fantastic, and we have been helped by everyone, they have sorted all the problems we had, even taking us to the Spanish departments for our paperwork, and placing us in touch with good builders, and electricians who can be trusted.

We have been here for about 8 weeks now, and love it.

However we have been carefull, and put finance away in England plus our Villa, which would enable us to return.

Brexit is a worry, but I am convinced the Spanish Government will not want to lose the Brits, as we bring in Multi Millions to the economy, and ask for nothing.

If you are sensible, and allow for a return, you cannot go wrong.

Make sure you have your UK assets declared using Form 720 - ask the helpful neighbours for a good gestor.

British Citizen. 

Of course you are a British Citizen. However, once you have been here for more than 183 days in a calendar year (not necessarily in one visit) you will be tax resident in Spain, and must pay taxes under the Spanish citizen on all world-wide income, and follow their laws on assets anywhere. If you are just going to be here for odd holidays then different rules apply, as a non-resident. 

Your post suggests that you are looking to move here full time but with a backstop, and after Brexit it will be very difficult for anyone to hide their status as many have done in the past. 

As long as you can prove where you pay tax all is ok, Spain has already agreed no alteration to anything for expats, 

You simply show your P60.

If you pay tax in UK, all is ok, if it alters, I have nothing in UK!!!!!!!!!!!?????????? 

As long as you earn nothing in Spain, you pay no tax, pensions are pre taxed in UK.

If it alters, good bye by thousands of Brits who will simply leave.

Sorry cannot be more tactful, but what you write is absolute rubbish. You cannot choose where you are taxed, if you live in Spain (183+ days) you are taxed in Spain.

You can offset taxes paid in the UK whilst we are EU citizens, but after the ‘B’ word who knows.

Fines and penalties can be heavy, quite rightly

If you are resident in Spain you must file your taxes. You may not have to pay anything, but still need to declare your assets. 

And you cannot just say “I am not resident/am not on the padron etc” like so many  fiddling tax-dodgers have for years. The net is closing in.....
