Warm welcome to Fortuna. We bought a holiday home two years ago, and have enjoyed every minute. I spend the maximum allowance of half my time here so we may run across each other sometime in 2022, and in meantime best wishes as you settle in. (Clubs can be a good way to meet people, and if you want to contact again when you come out, I can give you latest details of local language, walking and golf meetings). Peter & Linda

Coincidentally I have just this evening paid for our first air tickets of 2022; March. That will be our first trip to our new home.

Hi guys, welcome to the Fortuna area. We, like you, have bought a place for now as a holiday retreat. We bought ours in Jan '16. The last two years have been very difficult to get out here but we've managed three visits and are now here again enjoying warm sunny days. We hope all goes smoothly with your purchase.

Yes in theory we will make our first trip to our Spanish "Hogar a hogar" in March; I say in theory because the travel rules are changing so rapidly at both ends of the trip that I've given up following the daily updates.

Fingers crossed our double jabbed record and booster now received, will be good enough for all concerned and we'll be saying 'hola' to a few new neighbours in the not too distant future!

Well the car is packed!  Full to the roof with personal effects, all neatly listed and printed in Spanish, and costed to keep under the 430€ allowance!

Just a week to go now; we're travelling on St. Patrick's day so maybe a drink or two on the ferry eh?  

Plenty of cleaning and painting to do when we get there, but lots of time to relax, explore,  and meet new friends? Before we then return home two weeks later.

Be advised. Bring plenty money. This place aint as cheap as it used to be. Prices are rocketing in the shops. Beer is up and petrol is now 1.75 euros plus.

Those coming for there summer holidays are in for a shock !
