Hi

I posted this earlier under a different heading and was advised to re-post here.

I am new to this forum. I am selling my property in the UK and looking to move to a golf resort in Murcia. I have been looking (online only) at Las Terrazas, HDR and HDA.

My preference before visiting is HDA as the build quality looks superior to the other two locations. I will be living on my own so the social side of things is very important. Has anyone got any objective views on which of the location above would be most suitable, or are they other developments I should also be considering? I am also an avid golfer so will be looking to join a society.

Thanks

Paul

Depending on your budget and the type of accommodation that you're looking for - apartment, townhouse, villa?  I would also consider Roda Golf and El Valle.

El Valle is probably one of the best golf courses in the area - although there are certainly plenty to choose from. However, in common with many of the golf resorts, it is  30 mins or so from larger towns, shops, restaurants, etc. (apart from those in the resort).

Roda is not as challenging a course, but it is much closer to all those other amenities.

I've not played at HDA, but had seen some poor reviews (of the golf, not the resort) recently. However, there are plans to upgrade and expand the resort significantly in the near future.

If you're living on your own and looking for a social life it would be important to consider how many of the properties at each location have permanent residents, as opposed to holiday homes or holiday lets.

Hope this helps!

Hi Rich

Thanks for the info, very useful. Although the quality of the course is important the social life is probably my priority as I can always drive to other courses. As for occupancy rates that is an unknown factor, I am planning to visit the area in the next few weeks to get a feel for the various developments/courses.

The bank repo's look very attractive particularly at HDA.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Regards

Paul

Mar Menor Golf Resort has many amenities and much closer to everything.  The golf is going through a revamp at the moment though.  Good percentage of people live there all year round.  You will still need a car as public transport is non existent

Hi, have you decided on a resort yet? We are looking to holiday somewhere for a while before purchasing and wondered which resort to trial.

Hi Tina

HDA seems to have what I am looking for in relation to price, community, build quality, and onsite facilities. I am flying out with a couple of mates next Tuesday for a week to have a look at some properties and get a feel for the place. We will also visit some other developments more than anything to rule them out but there may be a surprise there, who knows.

Hi, we have just purchased a property in Oasis HDA. Hoping to complete very soon and we will be over looking for furniture, mainly settee’s . Can anyone recommend somewhere to look.  I will also be offloading the standard green sofa that is in the apartment at the moment, as it is not my wife’s favourite colour. Anyone interested let me know.   Can’t wait to get back there, we have met some lovely people already .
