I don’t know about others but I have noticed the mosquitoes are back with a vengeance. All the rain has left the stagnant water they love so we’ll to breed in. Now a couple of weeks later they are there all sizes!

Also my wife has been bitten alive! No spray seems to be working..they are even biting through clothes. We had flies galore when we lived in Sucina next to a fertiliser plant. Don’t know what is worse. At least the flies didn’t bite us. We heard Camposol has a mosquito problem..should have taken heed!

Will get the spray when I go to Mercadona for the shopping, willing to give anything a try. I keep trying insect repellents and after bites, some work for a while. I wonder why some enterprising soul doesn’t put repellent in paint, polish and other cleaning products?

If it helps, I got a real handy tip of this forum last year, and I found it to work!! If you do get bitten, as soon as you realise, rub salt on the bite as if your exfoliating. It worked for me!!! I even carry a little sachet salt around with me now.

We've been using a deet free spray called, whimsicaly, Flies Undone, works well for both of us. You can buy a version called Biff in bulk as well for economy. They will ship from the UK.

You’re right. I’ve suddenly this week acquired about a dozen bites. I use vinegar too. Dip cotton wool in vinegar then salt and use as Mark said above. This is after spraying myself with two or three different lemon anti mozzie sprays, none of which seem to make any difference!

HOMEMADE MOSQUITO TRAP:
Items needed:
1 cup of water
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1 gram of yeast
1 2-liter bottle
HOW:
1. Cut the plastic bottle in half.
2. Mix brown sugar with hot water. Let cool. When cold, pour in the bottom half
of the bottle.
3. Add the yeast. No need to mix. It creates carbon dioxide, which attracts mosquitoes.
4. Place the funnel part, upside down, into the other half of the bottle,
taping them together if desired.
5. Wrap the bottle with something black, leaving the top uncovered, and place it
outside in an area away from your normal gathering area. (Mosquitoes are also
drawn to the color black.)
Change the solution every 2 weeks for continuous control.

Going to give these deterrents and bite remedies ago, thank you for suggestions. I keep trying different things, some swear blind lemon works but I haven’t found it so.
