Dear Neighbours,

I'm a few days away from completing on the above development (not sure what to expect) and hoped I could pick your brains about moving in etc.

- was water & electricity already hooked up, or did this require set up? If so how long did this take?

- where there are light fittings missing, did you enlist an electrician to sort this, or could it be done by yourself?

- when receiving deliveries, how easy is this, will they drop off at main gate or can they get straight to your door?

- any other tips or advice for moving in gratefully received as I am expecting worse case scenario of arriving to a dusty apartment...lit by candle light, sleeping on an inflatable bed and washing with baby wipes for a few days  :)

Many thanks,

Carrie

Hi Carrie, we completed a couple of months ago on a villa in HDA. As it's a holiday home for us we work with HomeKare to help us out with a lot of the logistics. But here is what we have found:

- your details (inc bank account and completion date) are passed by HDA to the providers, with the transfer of ownership taking a few months. In our case the electric and water were already on, but I can't say if that is the norm.

- we got an electrician in to fit the lights, the risk of messing it up was too great!!

- when we are there, deliveries usually get sent through via the gate and the driver makes it to the villa. When we're away, HomeKare takes care of it for us. The driver just needs to have your mobile number.

Feel free to PM me if you have other questions I might be able to help with.

Terence

Yes im here and its great in the sun. We are waiting on the pools to be fixed and then all go.

Its getting busier on the Oasis and everyone is very friendly,  lots of helpful advice and sharing of DIY tools!

I have used Spencer and Dani at home-space.es for all my odd jobs,  would happily recommend them. Most people used them for light installation, pool clean and repair,  and removal of planters from terrace areas.

Do let me know if you need any further info, happy to help 😊

Hi carrie,

I have booked, in oasis. Iam concerned about the sharing of the pools amenities etc, to other communities?"spanish village" . Etc, the pools are small to be shared with two communities and needs fixing. Also, the community fees are not cheap in " oasis. " to allow access and loose some privacy and exclusivity.

We chosed this area, because it seemed peaceful and quiete.. Hope in the future there will be control who gets in and out.

Also, is it being discussed the security system in the oasis gate? When i went to view my apart. Saw someone Jumping in the fence.

Thank you carrie, i appreciate the response.hope u enjoy there.

Thank you so much carrie, ☺️I just spoke to the Mn legal. They said its not allowed for the others to use the pool anymore...they did not tell me about the 1 year of free access.

I am not worried about it getting busy, just want some exclusivity and moneys  worth for the  community fee which isnt very cheap compared to others and knowing whos coming and going...i wont expect tp go the villas and los olivos pools myself.

I wonder , why they dont go to olivos" they have 5 working pools there too. We checked there. Its also nice there.

Are there any time frame for the pools to fixed and is the tennis cpurts and the other part of the amenities already open?

We will visit again, and see .... Hopefully things get better.

Thanks carrie, appreciate it so much.

I should imagine its purely because its closest. Anyone can access the other pools (without permission) as they are not cordoned off but location wise would be closest to Spanish Village. Im not sure how long the pools will be off limits for i guess MN Legal would know best.

Regarding the fees, I found them on a par with what you could expect to pay in the UK with far less services so I am not concerned,  it may be lower elsewhere but I would question what facilities and quality you're paying for. So far i have not met anyone who is unhappy with their purchase.

I hope that helps? 😁

Yes indeed...carrie.

When we went to view properties,in HDA, we were quoted community fees, "spanish village 700 per ,year. And "el  oasis, for 3 bed 145 euro approximately per month  Its much of a difference, we were told coz of facilities of oasis etc. but if when we think about it, if we pay half the amount a year and get all the facilties of Oasis? For free?  - its not fair for the "oasis owner " i suppose....

Indeed, i think its also a matter of respect of ones space and the a cmmon sense and the agwnts should really not use it as a promo sales pitch.

are the tennis courts, community club open now?

Youve been such a great help,,,looking forward to my final viewing....

Have fun in the sun carrie👍🏻☺️😎🌹

Last I heard, and this may have changed, but Spanish village were making contributions towards using our pool,  they certainly didn't have 'free'  access, this would go into the oasis pot of community fees.

I have not been down to see the tennis courts yet but I know there had been a lot of STV activity down there which could be a positive sign.

The hotel and spa by the golf course remain closed and Kelleneys bar is also closed. Fortunately The Spaniard Inn is still doing a roaring trade and everyone loves it.

Best of luck with your viewings and I hope everything runs smoothly and quickly for you 😎
