Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to get a Covid booster jab using the EHIC card whilst visiting Spain as tourists?   We are aged 74 & 73 and are here until the end of January we left the UK just before we were eligible of the booster. Thanks

The EHIC is for emergency treatment and having the booster would not fall into that remit

So just a guess but I would say definitely not.

The Spanish will be jabbing their own citizens first and as a Tourist you would have no rights to a booster, and there would be no way of registering you correctly on their system

As the booster was available in September surely if you came before that you have been here too long already (90 days in 180) so perhaps should get home asap?

Thank you. We only arrived here 1st November and ruling in the uk at that time was 6 months and 1 week after 2nd jab which was in May, so 90 days not up til the end January.

DaisyMay.

Can you tell me what was unfriendly regarding my post?  I gave a genuine honest answer to Polly's question, (as I have done for many people on here, you don't get 150 helpful points by being unfriendly). As for your inference they are Spanish now and that my post suggested the Spanish come first and Polly has no rights, no I don't think I am Spanish and clearly explained why I thought that Polly would not be entitled to the booster, nothing to do with rights. I live in the UK and 10 hours from writing this I will be in Spain for the first time in 21 months for my holiday.

@Stevie100

I didn't find your post unfriendly..........

Just as a note.

The booster jabs in the UK are now being given 3 months after you second jab.

That applies to everybody......in the UK of course.

Hello Polly

I see the predicament you are in and I remembered someone put a post on here recently that may help, took a look back and here it is

Assuming you are not entitled to public health care?

Information on 3rd Jab - Private Health Insurance (information for people NOT in the Spanish Health System). I was advised to use this Clinica Rover by

Centro De Salud De Mazarrón when I went to get my jab there last Thursday and was turned away.

If you are wanting the 3 Jab or booster this information may help.

I have just had my jab at Clinica Rover, Mazarrón.

Phone to make an appointment, you must take your Covid Certificate with you and NIE/Passport/Residencia.

Takes 5 minutes, no queuing and 10€.

I have just received Moderna ( my 2 jabs 6 months ago were Pfizer).  Receptionist speaks English.

Telephone numbers

Puerto Mazarron  968 155 847

Mazarron Town    968 592 391

Mobile                  674 853 948

I sincerly hope this is of some benifit to you and enjoy your holiday.
