Years back I sold my last house in Isla Plana and 5% of the proceeds was sent to the Hacendia ie Tax office in Madrid.

If you can prove you have paid all your relevant taxes in Spain you should be able to claim this back later in full, as I did.

I used a Spanish accountant to do this which cost a few hundred Euros.
