Good morning - does anyone know if the market is on today? I went for my inaugural visit last Sunday and it wasn’t there. I just assumed it was there all year round but maybe not - cheers - Pete 😀

I read on FB that the market is temporadly move to an other aera...... but cannot remember where....

Many thanks eraser - it looks like there's been some kind of altercation with the town hall regarding the difficulty with loading and unloading - but progress is being made (see link below). However, I did travel there yesterday (Sunday 4th December) and again, they weren't there but I did notice lots of footfall in the area so it looks like it was supposed to go ahead yesterday to include an additional street but for some reason - didn't !!

I'm not 100% sure as some articles I've read say 8am to 2pm and others say 9am to 3pm - I'd guess it's the former - if it reopens that is !!

Hi everyone - this is the most recent article I've found regarding the reopening of the Sunday market and it's not looking good. Apparently Cartagena city council have moved the market to the Carretera de La Manga area by the Eurospar supermarket but the traders are up in arms as the pitch isn't suitable and there are issues with the asphalt giving way, adding to other health and safety concerns so I'll try and keep you up to date as and when - cheers :-)
