Hiya
We viewed some places on Mar Menor Golf and there does not appear to be any catches just good value for money, the 2 bed apartments in The Boulevard at the front are also very good at about the same price.

there is an additional cost which new owners should have added for repair work to these apartments. Other than that they are great value but you absolutely do need a car....also look at El Boulevard apartments...much closer to shops and restaurants...but still need a car, We are permanent residents here and love it!
PS nowhere near La Manga!!

Is there any public transport there at all that goes to the beach or the airport?

Also where to look for the el boulevard apartments? Are you allowed to live permanently in this type of places? My parents might be able to move there in a few years

google La Goleta apartments Mar Menor...eg https://resortsalesandmanagement.com/property/la-goleta-mar-menor-golf-resort/
No public transport except to Torre Pacheco the nearest town which is why a car is essential.
The cost of the repairs should be included in the price for new owners but a few thousand depending on which block.
No restrictions on permanent residency or holiday homes ...or renting out your property ( tourist licence is necessary though)

Excellent thank you. I am now thinking to view a few options not just coastal properties.the price is attractive and within our budget and also the fact that it is a new built and a gated community so you can lock and leave. I really wanted easy access to the beach but places advertise there are quite old and really tiny. Thinking with young kids this might be a good option especially if my parents would be able to spend a lot of time there. The only issue is that I do not drive - living in London all my adult life there was no need but now I have kids I was going to learn anyway. What the roads there are like? Is traffic bad? Would it be difficult for a new driver to get around - only to the shops, beach etc.

driving in Spain is really easy once you get used to driving on the right....very little traffic and motorways are very quiet...
