Hi all . Having a night mare with this.  Police accro site has been hacked cant do on line app for our criminal record. Completed a manual em ail and paid £55 3 weeks ago not heard squeak. Get this!! the site says if you chase up your application it will delay it. Contacted my Uk GP surgery for the certificate to state I have no infectious diseases . After 3 weeks they says they will email our medical records but says he wont do the certificate as it requires tests and is outside NHS. Have to go private. Is this correct. It seems every petty official is putting obstacles in our way . Any advice please.

The UK was a valued member of the European Union, but some politicians pandered to the prejudices and zenophobic views of a minority of the population to further their careers. They lied about so much but fooled enough people to force the UK to leave, so do not expect Europeans to fall over backwards to ease foreigners coming here to live. Why people put themselves through so many hoops to emigrate here under the present conditions is totally beyond me.

Many thanks for the reply. Gp originally said they would do it for a fee then came back and said no. With regard to acro police. They actually tell you on the web site because it has been hacked not to follow it up or it could delay it. Police web site has been down for weeks. The devil knows what is happening to our records.  (as i write) Just had an email saying please be patient. Looks like I will just have to suck it up. Where and what are we paying for in the UK. Great jobs if you can get them. Thanks again Jim F

Your GP doesn't have to do this certificate, but most will. My GP charged £20 for each certificate.

You shouldn't need tests (unless you have a history of relevant diseases).

If your GP won't do this, ask the Practice Manager. If still a 'No', then you should ask for a copy of your medical records and then find a private GP (try a travel medical centre if you have one nearby), who will do it for a fee.

Hope this helps!

I don't think the NLV process was particularly onerous.

Ultimately, Spain is saying that we only want people to move here if they have no criminal record; will not be a drain on the Spanish health service (which immigrants haven't paid into); and that they have sufficient money to support themselves. I suspect that many people will share my wishes that the UK had and will do likewise...
