Hi Glynn,
We bought our dog over by the Chunnel.
We took our vets advice, who said as we were movíng to live in Spain the journey would be long and full of unknowns. The less time your dog spends seperated from his beloved parents the better.
A dog locked away whilst travelling such a distance such a long journey the less traumatised he will be.
I remember my first plane ride, the noise the vibration the buffeting.
My little girl locked in a tiny crate on her own in semi darkness I think too much of her to subject her to that torture which is as the vet said how she would perceive it.
We took our vets advice and drove with her sitting on my Wife's lap (secured of course) She enjoyed the journey, the sights, the new smells and the stops.
We had no adjustment problems with her after the journey, she loved her new environment and improved weather as did we.
We came via the tolls stopped overnight twice (a mistake) we should have planned three overnight stops, took our time and enjoyed the stops we had rather than just spending a few minutes before rushing off again.
Regards Al ( a fellow La Tercian)
