Hi all.

I called to the bank today to sort out getting access restored to my online banking.

The lady in the bank told me that next month my non resident account fees are rising to 14 euros per month as opposed to the 15 euros per quarter i am currently paying for a debit card and online banking.

She said the only way to stop these fees was to have my uk salary paid into my account and also take out home/contents insurance etc.

Can anybody advise or have any information on these fees?

I got the same letter from Bankia.

I was told that you cannot have a Cuenta On account if you have an account with them.

I am closing my account next week.

Strange one that Roland.

I went into the bank, and they opened the new account, then closed the old one down after a few days.

All my direct debit details where also transferred over, but don’t always rely on the bank for that one

Hi all

Went to the bankia branch earlier in Balsicas and was told that the Quenta on account is not available to existing customers only to new customers via an app.

The lady confirmed that the only way to avoid the 14 euros a month fees starting next month is to have your salary or

pension paid into the account and then take out home insurance too.

168 euros a year just to have a non resident account seems very expensive.

Back to the drawing board for me.

Oh no that’s not good, I must have been lucky last year switching account,I also have buildings insurance with the bank, when I went into Bankia to question the charges, she offered me that account. They may have changed the criteria, probably because a number of people were switching.

If you are ever in Los Alcazares it may be worth chancing it?

I can give you the name of the cashier, as she gave me her business card.

She was very helpful

Yes, have read about the N26 account, will have check it out a bit more.

I think its scandalous that Bankia is upping the cost of having a non resident account by over 100 euros a year but again this is Spain?
