Ok we have a property in la tercia .

I hold a uk passport my wife holds both British and a Italian passport.

Therefore I'm married to a eu citizen I do need to aquire the correct document which is no problem to secure my freedom of movement my wife is Italian.

However I'm confused on the driving licence required? I can stay in spain but what about my driving licence?

Hi if you take up residency in Spain you must change your driving licence, the periods available to you to do so are update on the ukgov website living in Spain. I would advise asap due to Brexit.

You will have no problem driving in UK with a Spanish Licence again confirmed on the ukgov website.

Its a simple job and I think can be done successfully with a visit to the Los Alcazares Policlinica Medical Centre.

You can take the simple medical and driving test and for a fee they ill issue you a temporary licence whilst your application is processed, about 4-6 weeks.

Regards, Al

Hi Alan, apologies to jump onto your post but I am also married to an Italian citizen and we also own a property in Spain but are residents in the UK. I'd looked at getting an Italian passport (so dual nationality) through marriage (just incase Brexit caused us some issues with owing a property in Spain) but I hit a brick wall as I was required to pass an Italian oral test to qualify for the Italian passport.

Just wondering about your experiences if you'd also considered getting an Italian passport through marriage ?

Apologies again for jumping into your post and not actually helping with your question....

Mark
