Hi all,

We are new owner's on La Torre and really don't know that much about surrounding areas, we have a teenager and a 6 year old so any help on where are best areas to go would be appreciated. We have been to los Alcazares, Cartagena and San Pedro del Pinitar to have a quick look. Also any advice on what goes on at La Torre. Thanks all

Michelle and Paul

Hi,

You can't go far wrong with the Water parks for this time of year. There are lots around - Not sure if these are your nearest but here's the details of two of them:

Aquopolis Waterpark in Torrevieja opened on June 3rd 2016  (see website for opening times and dates)

The Water Park Aquopolis Torrevieja is open from the 3rd of June 2016 until the 1st of September 2016

Website: http://torrevieja.aquopolis.es/plan-your-visit/opening-days/?lang=en

Address:

Avenida Delfina Viudes, s/n

03183 Torrevieja

=========================================================================================

Aquapark Flamingo in Urb. La Siesta, Torrevieja

Open from June to September 2016.

From 11 a.m. to 6 pm

Hours may vary for technical reasons or weather.

Website:  http://www.aquaparkflamingo.com/

Address

Calle Rossini

03184

Urb La Siesta Torrevieja.

and of course there are the Benidorm water parks and Theme parks and a number of coach companies go on days out there too in Summer if you don't feel like driving:

Here's the Benidorm water park website:

Hope this helps

Hi Michelle and Paul,

My name is Sean and I live on La torre with my wife and 3 kids. There is a big water park in Murcia and a lovely place to visit is Virgen del Asparenza in Callaspara which is an hours drive from La torre inland from Murcia. It is a beautiful peaceful place with amazing architecture...Google it, well worth a visit and Cartagena is a lovely place to visit. Hope this helps

Thanks so much for that, we lived in Cyprus for 5 years and everything seemed nearby but it is a small island! I'm sure we will get to know things but our 6 year old boy is fed up in the car after 15 minutes!! What's Roldan like we had a quick drive through to look for something to eat but didn't know if we were in the right part of town?!

Michelle

There are several good eateries in Roldan, the ones we use mostly are Honeys and Tuscano directly opposite, oh and also the Indian next door to Honeys, these are our favourites but to be honest we need to explore more places too. Monday morning has a market in Roldan which is ok but small compared to some of the other markets in the area. I,m assuming the 5 years in Cyprus was perhaps armed forces related ! Again hope this helps.

Regards

Sean

Sadly La Torre like many others was built with the assumption that Services and entertainment would spring up nearby but the crash came before this could happen, Los Alcazares is the nearest and best beaches for the family in the Mar Menor or Mil Palmeras in the Med, both have a host of places to eat, drink, or laze around 20 mins or so from La Torre.

There is  American style putting 18 holes outside Los Alcazares on the poligno industrial on Torre Pacheco Road,

or near the airport for the older children and adults is the Go Cart track both are suitable for all ages and you can have a great day out at either, Cartagena steeped in history is very good but parking is at the port which is also good to walk round or take a trip on the boat round the harbour cheap and great for all the family. but whatever you have the sun wherever you are

Hi

We are looking to possibly move out in the next 12-18 months and wondering what schools people have chosen. We have a 10 year old so any advice would be great. How are you finding La Torre ? Is it quiet and not much going on, we've read conflicting stories so would be great to hear.

Thanks Suzy

Best send child to prirate school attached to la torre till she learns Spanish then transfer her to a state school much cheaper and better for mixing with locals you can send her to state school immediately but Spanish is important if you have a year get her lessons then she will blend in easier
