Hi I am thinking of purchasing an apartment in La Torre but unfortunately I am unable to fly out to see it. The property looks great, looks onto golf course and shared pool so all we were looking for. What I wanted to ask was if you don't mind is

1. resort fees

2. would you recommend purchasing here

3. is there plenty to do if you are not a golfer

4. what are the roads like for walking to nearby towns

5. is there public transport

Thank you, it is a big decision and as we would like to purchase this property we are a bit dubious due to not being able to see it in person.

have a good day

This is intended to be constructive and helpful and is hopefully received in the same way...

I would strongly advise against ever purchasing a property without seeing it and the surrounding area in person (and I suspect many people will say the same).

Yes, you can view it online, see satellite views of the area, 360' video tours, get advice (as you're rightly trying to do) from people who know the area - but there may be any of a thousand little things that mean a lot to you, but would pass other people by, that might make the difference between you loving your property and constantly wishing you hadn't bought it.

I know many of us are stuck at home, probably haven't been on a proper holiday for a year, the weather in the UK is cold & wet and the days are dark (both literally and emotionally!), but what's the hurry? There are and will be many many properties for sale in this area, prices may fall as Brexit & Covid make it harder for people to visit & buy, so why make such a big decision without actually visiting?

You're quite right in trying to find out as much information about the property, amenities and the area in advance - that's exactly the right thing to do, so you are armed with that extra knowledge when you do come out and see the property 'in the flesh', but please just wait to view it...

Hope this helps!

Tbh, you would not want to walk to the nearby towns.

Long, flat, featureless, dusty walks; light industrial outskirts; baking heat.

You need transport.

In pre-Covid times (I hope they return one day), some of the Roldan restaurants did a collect/drop off service.

Thank you for your advice and as much as we love it we know in our hearts we should wait. Really appreciate the advice.

Hi Janice

I have recently bought a property on La Torre without seeing it in person .I researched it and the area for months . However I am lucky to have a friend who owns a property on the resort . Like you I had my heart set on a property and was worried about not being able to view the property in person . However  I had a great estate agent and I also used my friends key holder and he did several videos for me .  I agree it’s a huge gamble. But after all the videos I feel it’s the next best thing to seeing it in Perron  I understand it will be a few months yet before I get to see the property . But I have someone going in weekly checking. On the property for me :
i am very happy with my purchase as I feel it was a good buy ! Like yours it has pool and golf views . I know that myself and my family will have lots of happy times ahead of us out there .

If your want to pm me I can give you the details of my key holder Ken . I’m sure he would be happy to do a video for you of the property . He will also give you his opinion with regards purchase.

Regards

Hi there ,

Lived in Valencia for 4 years but La Torre Golf Resort looks better for us now because it has amenities we can walk to.Our community is becoming poorly administered, barking dogs, noisy renters etc.Penthouse or town house near the Hilton preferable.

Salud,John and Helen.

Hi

we own on site and neither have ever played golf. Although we might now try it. There’s various things to do especially if you don’t mind a 20-30 minute drive. On-site it’s a lovely place with a really good atmosphere.

Walking to nearby Roldan via the rear entrance is ten minutes or so walk (once you’ve left the resort) and the roads are generally not ideal for this. Often people hire bikes onsite and visit the other local villages.

We have an ‘Enebro’ design detached three bed villa and the monthly fees are good. Far better than apartments on the Uk. Think €200 a month and you’ll be near enough.

I wouldn’t be too near the Hilton though. This is the centre and as such the place where you’ll find the bars and restaurants and therefore noise. It rarely goes on past 1am but by being a block or two away you’ll sleep easier.

When you meet people here they are generally lovely and become friends. Id recommend it.

Hi La Torre,et al,

We plan to make an inspection trip to the resort around March,La Torre sounds ideal for us, and then sample Cartagena and Murcia etc. Any advice on reputable estate agencies would be appreciated.

John and Helen.

All I can say is Don't buy there. We rented for around 4 months pending availability on Roda Golf which we already knew. It is too quiet and bland with white buildings everywhere. It is a boring 25min drive to San Javier and has nothing to recommend it. When there, there were so many properties for sale it made you think. I don't see this being a good investment and remember to add approximately 14% to the purchase price to cover all your costs when buying anywhere.
