Prices are higher this year, as I expect car hire companies are trying to make up for losses last year. Although, by September they may reduce as out of the Peak holiday seasons.

I would recommend Centauro and have also had good service from RecordGo; but definitely stay away from Goldcar / Interrent....

...

Hope this helps!

Would highly recommend EDI or Flamenca cars both meet you in arrivals and take you straight to your car.  The price they quote is what you pay -  no hidden extras.  We’ve used them both over the last 7 years and never had any problems.

Hi Chris,

Glad that you had a good experience with these companies. However I tried to get a quote from Flamenca cars in September and they didn’t have any cars, also their quoted prices were outrageous. Of course I would prefer to hire from a more local operator as the best quotes are from brokers who do not show the small print. I recently got a very good quote from Do You Spain which gave me a ‘senior’ driver free….but when I went to the company they used, Record….they said that the commitment that was made was not on their books….so I had to pay an extra 85 euro.

Honesty seems to run ver thin in this business in Spain, such a pity as they really have a captive market.

Agree 100%, this subject of carhire is serious. Those who can do something about it have for years turned a blind eye to misappropriation of monies, will this continue for evermore? many of us who know we have been ripped of are powerless to challenge the rules car hire firms make. Paying with a credit card did not give me any financial redress. You’d think the reputable car firms would collectively present a case to the powers that be as their reputation is tarnished.

Loretta,

Problem is they dont care. Its impossible to get people united against the gangsters and of course wben one arrives at their desk they immediately have you compromised. Only thing that will change them is if some decent company competes....but is there any chance of this!! Certianly in Ireland or UK they would be fragged through the courts but here....in a land of sunshine with a topping of fraud....no one can challenge without losing a lot of cash....so the merry go round just continues.....no doubt at some stsge they will kill the goose that lays the golden egg....in the meantime sll we can do is roast them on the various consumer websites and bite our tongue

Best wishes
