So someone wants to sell their house: they will have to pay 5%+ commission (anyone tell me an agent charging less?), the agent knows houses are not selling so they value the house down to make a sale easier, the buyer offers an insulting price, and the seller cannot afford to sell for that, as th...

How to deflate a housing market in a few stages!

The original post was about car hire prices but you have introduced estate agents commission for some reason. Many agents have gone bust due to Covid, but there are plenty in and around our port who charge 3% max, and they will negotiate to encourage using them. Agents around here in the UK often advertise figures of less than 1%!

In response to another post on this thread regarding Brittany Ferries to Spain, thereby avoiding France. I checked sailings from Portsmouth the other day and they were fully booked, I could only get availability from Plymouth which doesn't really suit me. I much prefer to take my own car for long trips.

I would be grateful if you could give me a list of the agents you know that work on these fees.

Car hire prices with Centuro are more than 50% cheaper from Murcia Airport than Alicante, the difference is £150 a week in August!

However not many flights but its worth the hassle to find one.

It's up to you to do the shopping around, but I have two agents at the port working for me at 3% which is typical. You'll also find most will price match as well, don't accept the first figure they come up with.....they want your business! Some agents still claim commission off both vendor and purchaser, but I think that's dying out now. Good luck

This happened to me in 2010 I think it was.

Sky high prices so I bought a car in Spain & park it at the airport.

Hi Peter,

Can you recomment a (used) car dealer and a parking lot close to Alicante airport?

Cheers.

I can't recommend a used car dealer I am afraid.

For long term parking of your car at Alicante airport have a look at Plane Parking SL.

https://www.planeparking.com/

Prices etc on the link.

We have used them for many years.
