The medical centre in San Pedro does it all and processes it for you. Call in and make an appointment. I went to the new one… glass and chrome building… very efficient!

Public medical centres dont do the driving licence but the private one in San Pedro definitely does maybe only the private clinics….think it was 30€

I was in this position a couple of years ago, just coming up to 70 and thinking the same thing then I looked at my licence and the expiry date is Feb 2026. My husband, who is older than me, has an expiry date a few months earlier than mine although we exchanged our British licences for Spanish ones at the same time.

The expiry date is on the front of your licence.

You can get your medical done and the licence renewal done at the same time at the Centro Médico Virgén de la Caridad Mar Menor in Calle Emilio Castelar 108, San Pedro del Pinatar. Best to make an appointment: 34 968 18 12 00. They speak English and it's all done in 10 minutes. They even take the photo for you.

I believe that it's free once you are over 70.

You only pay for the medical - OH just renewed @ 50 Euros. You get a piece of paper saying you have passed valid for six months. Be aware that we were told the new card would be sent by post within one month to six months (!)
