Can anyone recommend an honest car hire company who operates from Murcia airport?
I used Goldcar/ Rhodium in August and they took over £180 on my credit card just after I left Spain without telling me. I eventually found out that they decided I had damaged the car (which I hadn't) and that I ordered a new car at the check in desk (which I didn't) . They said too I selected an upgrade car at the check in desk (which I did not do either).
Honest & Car Hire Companies don't go together I am afraid.................

I had similar experience with goldcar sent me email after I left car back to say I had crashed it lucky I had taken pictures when I returned car when I emailed back to say this I never heard from them again. I used Firefly last time and found them ok my husband used them as well before and found them ok. They actually advised me to take pictures of the car which was fair of them. (would have done that anyway ) just be careful the price on internet is not what you pay at arrival ( some add on) taxes etc. Good luck it's a mind field

Thank you so much for what you have said; I will try firefly when I go next in a few weeks.
Best thing to do is an internet search & see what comments are made about a company.
Goldcar has about 15 million bad reviews.

What they quote is what you pay no hidden extras at Murcia a and Alicante airports.

Has anyone had experience with OK Car Rentals at Alicante? Going out again in a couple of weeks and didn't realise it's half term, so there is a shortage of cars at the right price! I don't include Goldcar or Dickmans in my search (had problems with them before) so I've booked with OK, but can cancel if something better comes along.

We use Coys rent-a-car, they are a little bit more expensive than others but....... they do a meet and greet at the airport so no queuing, you only pay what you’re charged for with no hidden extras, they all speak English or are English and when you go home you just leave the car parked back at the airport.
Google them and ring them direct they are so helpful, we wouldn’t use anyone else.

This is really helpful thank you so much. I have contacted this company now and I shall review them for others in the light of my experience when I hire a car next month.

We have also recommended Coy's to friends and they too will not use anyone else now👍
