Hi everyone, I joined this forum around 3 years ago when we were waiting for our holiday home to be ready for us. We were told that it was a platform for asking for help, recommendations or advice on pretty much any aspect to do with owning a property here and the area. The friend who suggested we join was right; it has been a very valuable source of information.

However, unfortunately it seems to have become a forum to bicker at one another and belittle people who don't share your views. I myself was on the receiving end of this maybe a year or so ago when I was asking if anyone knew the BIC code for my bank. After being made to feel like a pathetic woman, having already tried to find out the information myself, I finally did find it and was able to prove that I had been bullied by a few who didn't know the information themselves.

In these unprecedented and worrying times, shouldn't we all try and pull together and be kind and helpful to one another? If someone hears something and puts it on here to ask for verification, let's not shout them down as if they're an imbecile. There's so much false info out there that it's hard to know what's true and what isn't but it doesn't mean someone's stupid to ask.

I understand that lockdown is hard and we're in it too, even though we're not residents yet, but this forum shouldn't be used as a place to vent your frustration on other people, most of which you probably haven't even met!

So come on folks, let's try and go back to the nice forum we all signed up to, as a means of helping each other. I hope at least some of you will agree.

Happy Easter and stay safe everyone.

All the best, Helena

Know how you felt, that is why I very rarely post or ask for help, but there are a couple of genuine good guys out there you just need to sort the chaff from the wheat, good luck.

Well said and sorry you have been bullied, no one should have to feel like that

Hi, thanks for your response. I totally agree with you which is why I continue to read it and be on the site. There are some lovely helpful people whose names I recognise, but sadly I've also become familiar with the names of generally the same few who want to enter into slanging matches and verbally bully people which makes for uncomfortable and unnecessary reading.

Sadly as with all things internet there are people that just love to 'troll' & spoil things for everybody.

There have been numerous 'trolls' on this forum that Alex the Admin has removed.

I suspect they are the same people popping up time & time again.

Unfortunately it takes several 'trolling' posts before the Admin catch on to them & remove them.

Those few posts tend to upset people & put them off using the forum.

Hi, thanks for replying. I agree and have been tempted to leave the forum myself which I don't want to have to do.

My thoughts are that if someone doesn't have anything helpful or useful to add, they should keep it to themselves.

What a great post.

I also joined for genuine help and advice, And to give help and advice to others. It helps to build a better picture of the areas too, ie that cafe or restaurant that you don’t know existed.

The big problem these negative people have is they are not happy with their own way of life so they try to find fault and take it out on others.

Example just because myself and my family have done ok for ourselves, and we share   With others our happiness they don’t like it, but want a piece of the cake!

You will always get someone to try and put you down. They are like seagulls, feed and water them then they just want to s**t on you the list goes on.

Jealousy, selfish and not happy in there own life.

Stay positive, keep smiling and let all the positive people on here keep looking after one another.

Just block the ones who bother you.

Stay safe 👍
