Would just like to say that I find this site very very useful as we are stuck in UK at the moment.  It's nice to get a feel for how things are progressing over there.

Be kind, stay safe.

Dear all

There are a few trying  folk out there unfortunately but most people are cheerful and friendly.

I experienced some negativity from an email warrior last year. I gave it back fine style.

I’m miffed by such action but let the light shine through

Thanks to the last few replies to my post.

It seems clear that people don't appreciate any nastiness and negativity on here so let's hope we've seen the last of it.

Keep safe and well.

Helena

Helena,

This is what makes their day to paraphrase Clint Eastwood. It's just the way the world is now with this "easy to have a go" facility . The vast majority of us avail of the forum and benefit from it, so roll with the punches, I will probably get a few replies to this and hope I make some pathetic creatures day too. Keep up your good work and don't let them get you down.

Well said.  I have hesitated to post anything in the past due to the few who feel they have to belittle anyone for asking even straight forward questions or make a spelling or grammar  error.  So glad there seem to be more like minded people on here who can see through this.

Stay safe all.

HOLA   thank you so much     how I do agree with you     I have never heard from so many small-minded people who enjoy bullying

I have stopped asking for advice      that is such a shame  as this forum is a great idea

I have even "unticked" the box to stop the replies

so when these "so called" humans change their ways   please inform me       so yes you can not please all the people ????

Hi everyone, I joined this forum around 3 years ago when we were waiting for our holiday home to be ready for us. We were told that it was a platform for asking for help, recommendations or advice on pretty much any aspect to do with owning a property here and the area. The friend who suggested w...

...e join was right; it has been a very valuable source of information.

However, unfortunately it seems to have become a forum to bicker at one another and belittle people who don't share your views. I myself was on the receiving end of this maybe a year or so ago when I was asking if anyone knew the BIC code for my bank. After being made to feel like a pathetic woman, having already tried to find out the information myself, I finally did find it and was able to prove that I had been bullied by a few who didn't know the information themselves.

In these unprecedented and worrying times, shouldn't we all try and pull together and be kind and helpful to one another? If someone hears something and puts it on here to ask for verification, let's not shout them down as if they're an imbecile. There's so much false info out there that it's hard to know what's true and what isn't but it doesn't mean someone's stupid to ask.

I understand that lockdown is hard and we're in it too, even though we're not residents yet, but this forum shouldn't be used as a place to vent your frustration on other people, most of which you probably haven't even met!

So come on folks, let's try and go back to the nice forum we all signed up to, as a means of helping each other. I hope at least some of you will agree.

Happy Easter and stay safe everyone.

All the best, Helena

Hello Helena I had a similar experience and now I take my time replying or not at all.

I think everyone on here is stir crazy, maybe not meaning to be “grumpy” or unkind, but it is happening please all think before you bite and try to be kind.

Take care and stay safe.

I think that if you have a contribution to make then just make and as they say in Ireland " feck the begrudgers"
