My parents live there and everyone had to remove their cars and park them in the pathway at the front of garden.

Is that la pinada? I am in residential la pinada. I believe it is the next door apartments. It has marble steps up to entrance but the cars are below. Do you know what area is like today .

Thank you

Lo pagan is ok as far as I can see. I Did see the emergency services pumping water out of a garage on my way to the market in san perdo earlier. I don't think any underground garages escaped the storm. The one at the end of my road is still full of water. Hope no one left their car in there!

Found this info on an other forum

When these types of disasters happen it is the El Conscorio de Compensación de Seguros (Consortium), a government body, that has to assess and payout on the losses.
To be entitled to a payout, you must have had a Spanish insurance policy in force for longer than seven days.

The reason for this is that a small amount of your premiums paid to your insurance company go to the consortium in order to cover you against natural disasters such as flooding.

The process
To register a claim, you must present your NIE number, confirmation of the address affected and your Spanish bank account number including the IBAN number.

Once the claim is opened, one of the surveyors from the consortium will make contact and come along and look at the damages.
Upon their visit they will request to see a copy of your insurance policy, the receipt of payment and the terms and conditions of the policy.

They will also want to see proof of your bank account number reflected against your name and a copy of your last IBI (financial tax) receipt.
The consortium can be contacted on Tlf 902 222 665 or go tohttps://www.consorseguros.es/web/inicio

Thank you all for the updates.  We are in the UK but our apartment is near the windmill at Lo Pagan.  It is on the second floor so we know we won’t be flooded, but hope we have no roof leaks as we are the top floor below the solarium!  Wishing everyone the best at this awful time

Tracey,

I hope you are ok as well. The area bear the windmill was, for some reason, least affected when i was there yesterday. Second floor you will have no issues. Wind was strong but really would doubt that there would be roof damage.

Good luck

Jim
