Hi all, moving there soon!
Hi,
We’re just buying a place in Lo Pagan and were wondering do’s and don’ts in the area and just to say hello!
Cheers

Hello and welcome! Hubby and I recently moved near Lo Pagan! Don't know the don'ts but know it's a beautiful area with lots of cafes restaurants and entertainment and of course the Mar Menor! You can also enjoy the surroundings. Lots to do! I am sure it's what attracted you to buy in the area. Best wishes!

Congratulations on your purchases, we have only owned there ourselves since 2015 but the area is up and coming.
We love Lo Pagan and the surrounding areas, walk the towns as early as possible to get a feel for the shops, bars & restaurants...there are some decent furniture shops we have bought various items and quality/service & installation is pretty good, take a look on google maps and familiarise yourselves, it helps when you are then over there.
Loli at Zapato y Espinosa was helpful and indeed trusting, she even allowed us to take pictures away to try on our walls.
The area does go quiet after the Summer season, Christmas is extremely quiet (everyone deserves a holiday!) and the opening of some restaurants are hard to predict.
If you hire a car, arrange your own insurance and shop around, we have used Firefly via Do You Spain, the prices are always competitive...ensure you take photos of the car on arrival and upon return, we always but full/empty but fill it ourselves and leave the receipt on the dash (take a photo).
Pretty sure you will try all the local restaurants most are within walking distance, value for money for us goes to Meson Los Caracoles in Lo Pagan, €20 for a 3 decent 3 course meal and wine and it seems to be open most nights.
From our experience..for any new builds with snagging issues.....don`t rant at the Builder, this was probably our (MY) biggest learning and stress when we first took possession.....do document the snags with photographs and ask them for a timescales and chase them up in a controlled manner...this is key to enjoying the process (I can say that now).
Try to find out when fiestas and activity is going on...so research at your leisure online.
DO enjoy thr experience....maybe we`ll see you around DLounge, Frescos or Triskel sometime soon...!

Hi
Looks like all your replies offer good bits of advice. It's a great little place and the mar menor is wonderful.
All I can say is look at the free papers, there's plenty of articles of interest and more importantly clubs for all interests for you to consider getting involved in, if you want to.
You can get these from amigos an English/Spanish sports bar serving English food , and prem football
Good luck to you both

Welcome to Lo Pagan. We only use our home for holidays at the moment but have been going to the area for over 10 years. Lots to do and although quiet out of season I like that too.
Just have fun exploring

Hi
Good luck with your move
As the previous reply explore and enjoy.
I was always like to use my bike it's a good way to see what's going on . I usually cycle 1/2 - 1 hour up coaste and next day down coast, also try walking 1/2hr each way it's uprising what you will find.
A must is the Romans and cartagena festival. Coaches will run from S.P , it's the most magnificent festival I have ever seen
Good luck

We just came back this afternoon having spent 2 weeks over there, the weather has been excellent and it is getting hotter by the day and late evening.
The place is buzzing and on Thursday "thousands" attended the Los40 Pop Concert in Lo Pagan, the place was really rocking...!
We are unsure when we will be back over as we are going through the conveyancing process on our house here in the UK, however we are sure you will meet like minded people.
Enjoy that sun !
