My wife and I have just moved to Lo Pagan (renting), with a view to staying for the foreseeable! We would appreciate any helpful tips/guidance about things we need to do and know about the area. We haven't started the NIE process etc yet but will be looking to buy a car when we have done so. Can we do it ourselves or is it a difficult process ? Many thanks Pete & Dawn Sutherland.

You can do it yourself but its less hassle to pay someone to help you....we used Andreea in Trebol estate agents in Los Alcazares but theres probably someone nearer to you.

Hello, how are you finding it there? I'm seriously considering buying a new build there/San Pedro and commuting to work in the uk. Would love to know what you think of it so far?

We bought a house in Santiago de la Ribera and the solicitor did the NEI for us all included, you can go to the town hall yourself and do it but I suggest you take someone who can speak fluent Spanish.

Good luck.

John

Thanks John. We did get a quote of €262 from a solicitor that our rental company use. As we already have the forms ready to fill in and we are in no rush I thought I would look at our options.

Hi Haynd60

We are loving it here so far ! There is plenty to do or not do. We spent some time in hotels in Los Alcazares and Santiago de la Ribera before opting to rent in Lo Pagan, and think we have made a good choice. About 20 mins to Murcia St Javier or an hour to Alicante airports, as well as having all amenities close by.

Good luck with your choice !

Pete

That's really good to know Pete. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I am very tempted to do this and will be looking at property again in a couple of weeks time. Although with the state of Brexit I'm not sure if it's a good time to be making these decisions. Thanks again, Debbie

Hi Pete and Dawn we have recently bought a property in Lo pagen as a holiday home . The solicitor took care of all of these particulars for us ( power of attorney) including amenities direct debits . I must say it was totally stress free. Well worth the fee .

Kind regards wendy and Steve
