Good day,
Got a full solar panel installation last month done by Ecocorp Solar from Antes, Almeria. They cover whole of Costa Calida and also Lo Pagan. We can highly recommend Ecocorp Solar for it’s free visit, quick proposal, fair pricing and quality installation with English speaking installation team. From beginning untill the end a trustworthy family owned company. Ask for Daniel.
If you are looking for a solar installation I hope this helps.
Cheers.

I had 3 solar panels, totalling 1.65kW, supplied & installed by Iberdrola in June 2021, costing a little under €4,000.
Iberdrola are my supplier, so they used my consumption history to recommend the ideal output of panels to have; and they also used google maps and then an onsite survey to recommend the best roof & orientation to site the panels. The panels were also installed in such a way that I could add additional panels in the future if I want to.
The forecast Return on Investment (ROI) was 6-7 years, which I am on track to achieve, as I save around €50 per month on my electricity consumption. It should be noted that most of this is by 'self-consumption' - I use the electricity that I generate, so I don't have to buy it from the grid (Iberdrola) at a tariff of approx. €0.15 per kWh. When I have spare generated electricity, this is sold to the grid at a variable rate, but roughly speaking €0.08 per kWh.
I know people who were persuaded to buy much higher output of panels, which, in my opinion, is fine, if you are consuming it. However, from the rough figures above, you will note that the ROI would be longer the more you just sell to the grid. If your property is a holiday home, it is probably nice to know that when you're not there, your panels are paying for themselves, albeit at a slow rate.
I am a resident, so, particularly in the spring & summer, I consume the electricity that I generate on my pool pump, plus I use my washing machine & dishwasher during the day, when I am generating. My only real spike of cost is when I cook in the evening.
Similar to Ecocorp, mentioned above, Iberdrola offer a 'virtual battery', where they virtually 'store' the energy you export and then feed it back to you when you need it. This means you are not paid for what you export, but you, obviously, pay for less from the grid.Hope this helps!

Thanks Rich, also very helpful. Ours is a holiday home that we use four or five times a year, so trying to work out if it’s worth the investment. Thanks again

There are also various local and government grants available and some areas (although I don't think this currently applies in Murcia) offer reduced IBI (council tax) for X years as an incentive, so these may be worth exploring...

Thank you - that’s two votes for ecocorp!
Hi, we used Simply Solar, initially for solar hot water then we went back to them for a solar array and pool heatpump. They sorted all the paperwork out and offer a long warranty/technical back up, however nothing has gone wrong in 3 years now.
