We have a lemon tree in a pot in our courtyard, which is doing fine, but recently we've noticed that something (beetle, bug, caterpillar, etc...?) has been eating it's leaves.

We've not seen anything, but wondered if anyone had a suggestion as to what it is likely to be and a solution (I'm guessing a particular bug spray - but do we need to know what kind of bug first?)

TIA

We have the same problem with our lemon tree and also see that some of the leave are curling up! I thought that I saw a praying mantis on the tree a month or so ago but don't know if it was a figment of my imagination. All 5 of our lemons fell off after growing as large as a pea but this could have been that the tree had just been transplanted from the pot that it was in when we bought it from the garden centre. We would also be interested in knowing what bugs might be eating the tree and also how and when to prune it. It's branches have really grown in the past 3 months!

I read in my above link that you an spray the leaves with a solution on washing up liquid and water (I think it was 1 part washing up liquid and 3 part of water). > every 2 days

In your garden center you will find also find some chemicals just try to get green - but it takes longer.

Curling leaves on the lemon tree is down to small 🐛 and tiny green bugs, you need to spray them every 10 days or so. Garden centre will advise you what exactly to use.

There's somwhere big grasshopper type creature hiding around, just check all branches, the leaves 🍃has been eaten by this insect.

Thanks All.

We have crickets, praying mantis, etc. so we'll try and soapy water treatment first and then maybe progress to sprays if we need to...
