I can help with the recycling question.

You will see in many places by the roadside domed plastic recycling bins - mainly green for glass and yellow for plastic containers. Commonly there will also be a grey 'square' grey bin, with a blue slotted opening and these are for cardboard.

Alternatively, take the RM-711 (signposted Caravaca de la Cruz) north of Lorca and then the C9 and the main refuse tip is about a mile along that road.

Hope this helps!

Take ID - ideally TIE or health card (which has the NIE).

Happy to answer any other questions as & when.

There isn't a particularly big expat community in & around Lorca that I know of.

I live out in the 'campo' about 20 mins north of Lorca. Here, we don't have landlines, so our broadband is provided by Wimax, so I can't help with traditional broadband services.

Hi Denise,

My wife and I moved to Purias in May of this year.

There are a few ex-pats dotted about the place but most in my experience are towards Cartagena, Alicante way.

But saying that many ex-pats in Albox, Huercal Overa and Arboleas ( 20 mins down AP7 ), Mazarron and Campasol ( which is between Mazarron and Alhama de Murcia along the RM3)

Mazarron has The Food Company (TESCOS) we went there last week, and I thought very expensive.

San Javier is Iceland which I've not been to, and I think there is one also in Mojacar.

Carrfour just outside lorca sells yorkshire Tea )) and lots of other shops, We like Mecadona near Mc Donalds and that new round about.

We use TelPlay, we went to their shop just outside Lorca pay 18.00 euros per month for 25mg. no landline so is through a small dish on the roof.

recycling don't know sorry, but these guys have answered.

Lobster mobile is good for Spanish phone numbers. mine is 12 euros per month. All English company. Which is great )))

Murcia today is a good place to get info from. But ask questions here too.

All Facebook groups i like and have loads of info if you ask. might be worth checking them out.

Brex pats in Spain international

Spanish Gardening info

Expats retired or working and living in spain

There is not a group that meets up in or around Lorca. Maybe there should be as moving here can be a bit daunting, and finding the right people to do building work etc can be tricky.

Regards
