Hi all,

Having seen the overcrowded British beaches over the  recent Bank Holiday, what are feelings about the possibility of hordes of Brits descending on Spanish beaches as travel restrictions are lifted, the kind who ignored social distancing and pleas by local councils not to flock to the seaside. Personally, I dread this happening. These people have no common sense or consideration for others safety.

In the UK, we get photo's and clips on BBC & SKY News, newspapers showing overcrowded beaches in UK, Spain, USA, France etc. Chances are most are old shots or cleverly placed camera angle.  Some miscreants are disobeying rules, but not the hordes you say so don't worry so much. Just follow the rules yourself, let the authorities deal with the idiots and don't believe all you read and hear on media. We should be able to believe and trust them but they are very bias and too politically orientated. I now watch the news once a day, and with a pinch of salt. Try it, you'll be less stressed! 😀

I have been to 2 beaches over the past 2 weeks and have yet to see the "hoards" people were social distancing and being very careful. Please don't believe all you read and see in the newspapers as if they have nothing to report they will resurrect old news. It is just the same as we in the UK are reading that the people of Madrid are driving down in their "droves" to the costas. We take this with a pinch of salt. There are stupid people everywhere but most are being very careful.

Hi. Good morning

Don’t believe all you see. One of my sons lives in the east coast of the uk, literally a couple of minutes walk from the beach. I expressed my concern and he shot ne a video, on the news it was thronged with people. In reality there was one old chap walking his dog.

Ignore the media, we would be far better off if we all did xx

It's not just the British idiots who crowd onto beaches and ignore the social distancing. The day that they opened our local beaches, the locals were out there in large family groups, all hugging each other and sharing their plates of food among themselves. I think that there are stupid and selfish people everywhere and of all nationalities! I think that the biggest worry is when the lock-down ends and the general population from the big Spanish cities that we know, are still showing high figures of infection, flock down to the costas en masse and bring the virus back into the local population.

Hi, i have just spent today on the beach with my family, 3 adults and 2 children. The pictures are scary that are being shown in the news. But most of  the pics are historic and others are taken at low angles so to create crowded effect.

Today on the beach every family is taking either an umbrella / beach tent/ or wind breaker to stake their 2 metre space. Today on the beach every one was staying on average 20 feet apart. Everyone was so spread apart that it took a lot of walking and a path is made down the centre of the beach for people to walk north and near the sea walking south is the other pathway. This was skegness beach and everyone is cautious

Agreed. I've read people are flocking from the cities to the Costa beaches and ignoring distancing rules in their droves too - is that true or more false news?

Went past the beaches at Pro de M yesterday. Not crowded at all and well spaced out. Vast majority of people wearing masks in and out of the shops there as well. Always a few morons around at any time, just more noticeable at the moment. As people have said before, "there  ain't no curing stoopid"
