Hi Jennie

I've just tried it and it works. Copy and paste works.

The new rule for Spain about tourist Visas is valid for 90 days max and no return until a further 90 days. I am told this an EU rule and applies throughout the EU . Does this mean if I spend 90 days in Spain and return to the U.K. I am then not allowed to travel to any other country in the EU unt...

...il I have spent at least 90 days in the U.K..

If that is the case that is madness and another fine case of Brexit negotiation by Boris.

Does anyone know different or am I correct.?

You blame UK negotiators - Don't - it applies to all Third Countries - Was never up for discussion

This is what the British people voted for the end of Freedom of Movement.

Remember it is days in the Schengen area not nights, like coach holidays 8 days and you get 7 nights

Hi thanks for the info. Just have some other questions. If I travel to Spain ( or the EU) for 30 days and then go back to the U.K. can I bank the unused 60 days of the Visa. Or do I have to wait Untill the Visa ends ( another 60 days) and then wait a further 90 days before I can travel to the EU.

Or do I start my 90 day wait in the U.K. as soon as I get back....

...

Also if I have 60 days left on the visa when I get back to the U.K. can I go back to Spain for the remainder of the visa. That is to say, if I get a 90 day visa can I go back and forth to the U.K. as often as I like during the 90 days. Sorry for so many questions but the rule seems to have no detail explanation.

If you have a new Visa then as far as I am aware it is valid for 12 months and you are legal for the period of the Visa but you are Tax resident in Spain if spending 183 days here.

Moving in the Schengen zone will accumulate days to your 183 days.

Residencia has its own requirements and so if you want that - then you need to apply when you arrive in Spain. If you just want to spend more than 90 days but less than 180 then no implication on Residencia.

This does not reflect on the normal travel for holidays and the 90 days in any 180 day period.
