Just to say that if you are travelling to the UK it is well worth filling in the passenger location form before you leave the comfort of your home, computer and printer.
It has just taken me about 20 minutes per form to complete, and the idea of trying to do this on board or even at UK Border Control is not good - you cannot complete and submit it until 48 hours before you land, so time is tight. You end up with a 3 page document that gives everything short of your budgie's inside leg measurement. One point, if you are doing two forms or more you must close the browser after completing the first, before starting on another one.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

How many have you filled in? I know you are a vastly superior being, but not everybody has all the information needed to hand or is used to completing online forms.

You would be a nicer person if you did not have to denigrate every report, post, or comment by others.

Report yesterday of big queues at Luton of people who had not got the forms filled in.

The form for Spain to the UK is totally different, and must be completed online, then either downloaded to a smartphone or printed out. This is only possible to do within 48 hours of scheduled arrival time in the UK. Please write about the right thing, and preferably something you have experienced. Anything else is misleading rather super helpful?

Hi

Yep, we’ve just flown back from Spain. I filled out ours on the plane. It could be quite a challenge for some, as you are constantly aware that any minute you have to turn your phone off.

And for those in the UK that haven’t done it, it makes the time through immigration even longer.

I did feel for a few couples who weren’t completely comfortable with the technology of their smart phones and had to produce the document 4 times!!!!! And struggled each time to find it, which resulting in a few swear words!

So good advice, Peter C

Fill it out before you go to the airport. Understand we’re to retrieve the document, as there is a request to read it.

And if your destination airport is like Manchester, we had to sit on the plane for a long time before disembarkation, as they clear the previous planes through immigration, before they let you off!. Which does make sense, as they are not mixing up the passengers of different planes!!

But that said, more than happy to do it all again in three weeks!😀😀😀

We have just flown to Leeds - little problem with anything but there were quite a few tied up in Border Control on arrival because they had no contact form. We sat near a Spanish girl who had not heard of the form and who had no data access on her phone. She did not understand that you cannot download a form then fill it in, but that is possibly due as much to my Spanish as anything else. One major problem is that the form for entering Spain can be downloaded and printed off, then completed - the “into UK” system is different, as they want your details in digital format so they can quickly look you up if needed. Ryanair could make it much easier by not burying the requirement for the form in all the emails they send before travel - it gets swamped by the ‘hire your car’, ‘change your seat’ ‘add a bag’ stuff, when a simple ‘you must do this’ message with a clear link to the UK.gov site for it would be more helpful.....then again there are lots of folk who never bother to read anything!

We flew back to Glasgow on Sunday, having completed the online forms while waiting in departures at Alicante. The forms were then automatically emailed to us (we had a phone each).

On arrival at Glasgow, there were several people in the queue at Arrivals that looked / sounded like they hadn't heard of the form and had to stop & complete it - and I agree with PeterC that Ryanair don't make it clear through all their messages - although with all the media attention around quarantines, etc. in the UK, people should take responsibility for knowing what they need to do!

The Border Force agent just had a cursory glance at our phones and then we were on our way, but I guess they see so many each day, they know what to look for...

It seems there is the reference number you are given when you submit the form on the Border Control display that shows your passport etc details, all they are doing is confirming that the two match.
