That fault line map shows the African plate Northern most line runs from the Atlantic, heading East past Gibraltar along the African North coast, across the Med to South tip of Italy and East towards Turkey. Interesting!

Just looked at my Ibex Home Insurance & earthquake damage is most definitely covered.

Perhaps you should be looking at a different company for your insurance ??
