Hola everyone.

My wife and I are making the permanent move to the area at the end of the month. We were wondering what the position is in Spain on the 3rd or booster jab. We have just been told that we are scheduled to have ours in mid November here in the UK. We don't want to delay our departure so were wondering if Spain is in the process of administering the booster or 3rd jab. Or even planning to.

Thanks for any advice.

Ian and Kim.

In Murcia, booster shots for those over 60, or with health issues, if younger, will be given six months after your second vaccination.

For everyone over 70, that will be as early as end October, then cascading down. Ideally you should get your Padron ASAP, then present at the Centro de Salud office, with all ID, plus a print out of your vaccine certificate, to register your presence here and your current vaccination status, (that is a two step process).

Then you will get phoned/emailed or messaged for a Covid booster (its a half dose) compared to shots 1 & 2.).

Note also this is the time of year that Influenza virus and influenza bacterial vaccinations occur, you can have them all at the same time.

Are your Spanish residents and already resisted with the health service over here?

If so as contact you local medical centre with your Spanish medical card and proof of your previous vaccinations in the UK and request you are included in the 3rd jab process.

If not do you have the Spanish health care in place or have the necessary private health care, this is something you will have to do very quickly and the procedure is not a speedy process. If you do have private health care I would suggest you contact the company you have your cover with and and ask there advice.

Hola.

Thanks for your response.

We have our private health care in place. This was a requirement when we applied for our NLV. We were accepted just a month ago.

I will contact our provider to see what their position is.

Gracias

Ian

Ian,

Congrats on NLV.

You will still need to register with Murcia de Salud, as they are in charge of the vaccination processes.
