Hi, does anyone know if you have an Irish passport but do not live there, can you be classed as an EU citizen therefore can claim expenses for renting your place out in Spain? TIA

Hi there.

I have just submitted my taxes for renting out our house in Spain and asked our solicitor that very question.  This was the reply  hope it helps.

“What is important is the address of residence. In order to be taxed at 19% and for the expenses to be deductible, the address and country of residence must be in the European Union”.
