I'm considering purchasing a house in Los Alcazares.  Just checking to see if it's a safe place.  The Estate agent assured me it's safe,  but I would like to get a non biased opinion.

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, like a lot of places there is some element of crime in this area, but definitely not a lot.  Just make sure you ensure your property is locked up when not there, take care with pickpockets at markets etc, ignore people with clip boards trying to get you to give money to bogus charities etc.  If you only use the property for holidays then get an agent to take on keyholding/regular property checks for you when you are not there.  Mostly just petty crimes.  Join the Los Alcazares facebook page and see comments from people who live here and you will see it is a very popular area.  If you buy on a golf course, such as Roda Golf, you have the added bonus of security at the entry gates and regular checks around the resorts.  Hope this helps.  PS We have lived in this area for over 11 years and love it.

Safety is a matter of comparison...compared to UK then very safe...as in all tourist areas there are opportunist petty thefts...pickpockets and scammers. Do as Peter says and if you’re property ids to be left empty get an alarm and a management company. We bought on a golf resort 5 minutes from LA partly because of the added security...
