Hi,
I'm learning spanish in Manchester and attend 'Spanish Conversation Evenings' here.
I'm in Los Alcazares for a couple of weeks in June, and wondered if there were any opportunities to do the same there?
I'd be grateful for any information.

Just go into any bar and have a coffee and strike up a conversation, start with the barperson (you can mug up on a simple explanation of what you are after).

Our Conversation groups are a bit more fun than that really, was just wondering if there was something similar.
I seem to remember The Garden Bar on Monday mornings.......or was that just for people who live there permanently?

I believe all are welcome at the Garden Bar, but to really learn Spanish you need to keep away from all things Brit - people, tv and newspapers!

Laughing now. I agree. It's just that I was in Malaga for a week last October and they offered regular Intercambio Nights with local spanish people who wanted to practice their english. I appreciate Los Alcazares isn't Malaga, but thought I'd enquire.....thank you for replying though.

There is an intercambio every Thursday morning at Vinissimo in .San Javier and Friday eves 7:00 at Hotel Trabuco in Santiago de la Ribera ( presuming you have transport).Ignore the post about the Garden Bar its all English on Monday mornings coffee meet up!
The English cinema at Cine Las Velas has Spanish subtitles which also helps!!
A small group meet informally at the bar on the corner of the roundabout opposite Varazu on Friday nights 8 ish ....if you are on facebook look for Susana Romero Romero and Passport 2 talk she runs the Vinissimo group and a couple of others.....if you havent experienced much of the Murciana accent ...its very hard to understand!
