Hi could try the above Email as I have done same as yourself still waiting to see if All Direct Debits go out Wise account Unfortunately Council Direct Debit doesnt come out until June.Depending who you get response from they'l either say has to be done in writing.

Did you have any problems with closing your Spanish non resident account or did the Bank let you go easily?

Hi havent closed the Sabadell Account  yet as still have water Direct Debit to be taken from the Account hopefully end of this month.Then theres council Tax that wont come out until June bit Apprehensive in closing Account until I know its definitely going to come out of Wise as its been nightmare trying to change it to that account.Not sure if they accept closures Online.

I waited till nothing due for a month then transferred in exactly the amount to make an amount I could take out from the hole in the wall (through xe), withdrew it then typed a letter closing account with immediate effect, handed in at bank with cut up card and walked away. They closed my account same day and stopped my access to app ( so get any records you want first) all utilities were easy just went to office (Iberdrola, Aqualia, Internet and insurance) and set up new dd's with Wise, no-one even questioned it. Had to make an appointment at town Hall and set up dd for IBI, Car Tax and refuse collection, took less than 20 mins once got appointment (take interpreter if not confident and just remember €160 pa you'll save. I haven't worked out who to talk to re community charge but I will. Take my advice and go for it
